Are your kits suitable for beginners?

Our 'Meadow Hare' and 'Alliums' kits are both ones we designed specifically for beginners. However all of the kits come with an illustrated stitch glossary showing you how to do all the stitches included, alongside both full written instructions and visual diagrams so that previous stitching experience isn't necessary.

What size are the panels which come with the kits?

The size of the panels that come with the kits are 16x16cm (approx. 6.3 x 6.3”).

Are there any frames you would recommend for displaying my finished embroidery?

We usually start by getting do a mount cut to the size of a standard frame (8x8 for the outer measurement to fit an 8x8 frame is good as this leaves a small border around the edge). To calculate the inner measurements, we stretch the embroidery first (there are instructions for this on the back page of the instruction booklets), and then measure. Local picture framers will often cut mounts for a very reasonable price but there are online companies who do it, such as https://pictureframesdirect.co.uk/mount-builder/ (they do quite a nice range of frames too!). It will then fit in a standard frame, which can usually be found for a better price than getting one custom made. We often leave the glass out but if you want to include it a double mount can be a good idea as this creates a bit more space between the embroidery and the glass.

Can you buy the panels that come with the kits by themselves?

Yes, we have recently listed the panels on our website so if you have spare threads etc from previous kits, or have your own threads and embellishments to use, you can buy the fabric only.

Can you stitch into the large cushion panels?

Our cushion panels have the full design printed on, ready to be used as a cushion front that can be paired with a backing fabric of your choice. However, they can also be stitched into and embellished, by hand or machine.

Ordering

How long will it take you to dispatch my order?

We aim to pack and dispatch orders within 1-2 working days, very occasionally 3 if it is a particularly busy period. Do get in touch if you need something urgently though and we will do our best to help!

Can I include a gift note with my order?

Absolutely! Just leave a note in the comments box when you place your order and we can pop your note in a gift card and also send it directly to the recipient if you would like.

Do you sell wholesale?

We do! If you are interested in buying wholesale send us a message at beaksandbobbins@gmail.com or fill in the form on our ‘wholesale enquiries page’ https://beaksandbobbins.com/pages/wholesale-enquiries

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship to customers in the following countries:

  • United Kingdom (mainland), Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
  • United States
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Switzerland
  • Norway
  • Iceland
  • Japan
  • Hong Kong

I'm afraid we are currently unable to ship to Northern Ireland or any EU countries due to the new EU product safety rules (GPSR) that came into effect on 13 December 2024.

For USA orders we use Royal Mail’s PDDP (Postal Delivery Duties Paid) service so tariffs are included in the shipping price at checkout and customers should not be charged additional duties on delivery.

If you don’t see your country at checkout, please contact us at beaksandbobbins@gmail.com (or use our contact form) and we’ll do our best to advise or provide a custom shipping option.

Can I order over the phone?

Unfortunately we don’t have the means to take payments over the phone but if you prefer to order this way we can send you a secure payment link, or we also accepts cheques or BACs payments. The best number to contact us on is: 07908175373

I live in the US. Why have postage prices gone up?

Unfortunately following the end of the $800 de minimus exemption on the 29th Aug 25, tarriffs are now charged on all shipments going to the USA. We prepay these using Royal Mail’s PDDP (Postal Delivery Duties Paid) service, which means that no unexpected costs are charged on delivery. We do partially subsidise these ourselves but unfortunately can’t afford to completely cover them so have to include them in the postage prices.
